The Middle Place

Kelly Corrigan could be you. She could be me. She's a 36 year old mother and wife. And a cancer survivor. And certainly a weaver of words.

The Middle Place chronicles Kelly at that exact point in her life: "the middle place"; certainly no longer a child, yet still very much her daddy's little girl, as she and her father, "Greenie", both forge their own separate battles with the demon that is cancer. (Breast for her, bladder for him.)

The author takes us on a journey with her from August 2004 through March 2007, yet also flashes back through moments in her childhood and beyond, ultimately giving us a clear understanding as to why the legacy and bonds of family are so important.

I read this book in a mere two days. It was that engrossing and compelling.

Sounds like a good read. The only freaky thing is that my sister-in-law's name is Kelly Carrigan (maiden)
